Terms of use

The plain rules for the app, the subscription and the calls.

Last updated: 28 October 2026

The short version: OttoPlate helps you track food, weight and training. It isn't medical advice. Premium is paid for and cancelled through Apple, and refunds are requested from Apple. Calls with Robert are coaching on habits, not medical consultations.

1. Who we are

OttoPlate is published by CXR GLOBAL ENTERPRISE SRL, company no. 43395800, J40/16478/2020, registered at București, Sectorul 2, Șoseaua Pantelimon, Nr. 245, cam. 1, Bl. 51, Sc. B, Et. 6, Ap. 118 (“we”). Reach us at [email protected]. By using the app or the site you accept these terms.

2. Not medical advice

OttoPlate gives general guidance on food, weight and training. It doesn't diagnose or treat anything, and it doesn't replace a doctor or a registered dietitian. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have a medical condition, take medication that affects appetite or weight, or have had an eating disorder, talk to a doctor before following the plan. Stop and get help if you feel unwell.

3. Who can use OttoPlate

The app is for people aged 18 and over.

4. Free and OttoPlate Premium

Food logging, barcode scanning, search and workouts are free. OttoPlate Premium adds photo and text logging and the weekly check-in.

  • Free trial: 7 days. Cancel at least 24 hours before it ends and you pay nothing.
  • Payment: charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. You see the price in the app before you confirm.
  • Auto-renewal: monthly and yearly subscriptions renew automatically at the same price unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
  • Cancelling: on your iPhone, Settings › your name › Subscriptions › OttoPlate. Premium stays active until the end of the paid period.
  • Price changes: we tell you in advance through Apple and, where the law requires, ask for your consent.

5. Refunds

App Store purchases are processed by Apple, so we can't refund them directly. Request a refund from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com, under Apple's rules. Your statutory consumer rights are not affected.

6. Estimates in the app

Calories from photos and text, values from food databases and calculated targets are estimates. They can be wrong, so check them, especially when you need precision.

7. Crews and coaches

When you use crews or work with a coach, use a suitable name and be respectful. Don't send illegal or abusive content or other people's data. We may remove content or block access to these features if the rules are broken. A coach in the app is responsible for their own advice.

8. 1-to-1 coaching calls

Calls are coaching on habits, training and using the app, not medical or dietetic advice. Our coaches are not registered dietitians and may decline or stop a call if the topic needs a specialist.

  • Calls are booked on Cal.com, and coaching sessions are paid through Stripe when you book. The “Getting started” call is free.
  • Rescheduling and cancelling: [cancellation rule, e.g. free up to 24 hours before; after that the session isn't refunded].
  • Right of withdrawal: you have 14 days to withdraw from a service contract made at a distance. If you ask for the session to take place within that period and it is fully delivered, you lose the right of withdrawal for that session.
  • More about the calls is on the calls page.

9. Intellectual property

The app, the OttoPlate name, Otto and their content belong to us. You get a personal, non-transferable right to use the app on Apple devices you own. Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (Apple Standard EULA) also applies; Apple is not responsible for the app or its support.

10. Liability

We do our best to keep the app working well, but provide it “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we're not liable for indirect losses or for decisions based only on the app's estimates. Nothing in these terms limits your consumer rights or our liability where the law doesn't allow it to be limited.

11. Governing law and disputes

Romanian law applies. If something goes wrong, write to us first and we'll try to sort it out together. You can also contact the Romanian consumer protection authority (ANPC) or use alternative dispute resolution (ANPC SAL). Disputes go to the competent courts in Romania, without affecting any right you have to go to the courts where you live.

12. Changes

If we change these terms we'll update the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
